About Michael Struble

Currently, I believe my personal mission in life is to use my gift of adaptation. To adapt means to become adjusted to new conditions.  Whether that is to adapt to new surroundings, uncertainties, relationships, or even to adapt to a situation such as trusting my skills, both physically and mentally, to guide me another 1,800 miles on the Pacific Coast bicycle route for the second time.

Late in 2015 I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Bike the US for MS months after losing my father to Multiple Sclerosis.  I had already been using cycling as a coping mechanism and someone close to me was able to connect the dots.  So I tossed the idea around in my head for a few months and commited.  My oldest and ugliest friend Jake decided to join me biking the Pacific Coast while my cousins Ben and Pat dedicated their self-contained ride to the Florida Keys in memory of my father.  We all rode in support of Bike the US for MS.

This year I will continue to support and ride for Bike the US for MS.  I'm stepping it up a notch by setting up a nonprofit booth at local events in my hometown, helping to raise additional money and to help spread the word. Any Truckee/Tahoe locals that are reading this, I have been placing 'Bike the US for MS' stickers around the area on both road rides and mountian bike trails while I train.  If you stumble across any of these, take a picture with it and come down to my booth at Truckee Thursdays for a little surprise!

"Life is like riding a bicycle. In order to keep your balance, you must keep moving" Albert Einstein, genius

***Every expense on the ride is currently going to be covered by me and any other potential riders.  These expenses include any meals, traveling to and from each segmant, bicycle maintenence, etc.  Each cyclist spends on average $1,500 to cover their own expenses.  This means all donations will be directly benefiting those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.  Since Bike the US for MS is a 501c3, all donations are tax deductible. Use the tax ID #27-2192426 when filing your taxes.
