About Larry Sietsma
In my former lives, I was a US Marine fighter pilot, an Air Line pilot and a builder of affordable homes but am presently retired. In the last 4 years, I have bicycled over 27,000 miles, including the Northern Tier, Pacific Coast and Southern Tier with Bike the US for MS plus several other interesting rides.
It is an amazing experience to ride for the benefit of those with MS. Over the years, our teams of riders have generated millions of dollars for the MS effort which makes it worth every pedal stroke. It is extremely emotionally rewarding to meet many with MS along the way and also to help some of them with household chores they are no longer able to accomplish.
This year, I plan to do an Atlantic Coast ride to complete the rectangle around the USA. St. Augustine, FL to Bar Harbor, ME. 2110 miles over 35 days with only 3 days off. That will be a good workout!
My sister and several friends suffer from MS. In previous years, most of my riding was for pleasure but it is many times better to do it for such a great cause. I will be riding for Marion, Dolly, Doc, Pam, Evie, Dawn, Susan and Carrie.
I cover my own expenses but, if you would like to make a tax-deductible donation for MS research, it would be greatly appreciated. Simply type the amount in the box next to my photo on this page, click on Donate and follow the simple instructions. You are assured that all of your donation will be well spent toward MS research and in directly assisting those with MS.
The MS organization will send you a receipt for your tax deduction and, most importantly, will not bug you for additional contributions in the future. Thank you for helping those with MS.
