About Greenbriar Bragg
I grew up in Prescott, AZ and studied Marine Based Adventure Education at Prescott College. I have done extended bicycle tours by myself in the past and have since become hooked on bicycle travel. On my first tour, on the Northern Tier route, I met a man named Chris who was camping with his family in North Dakota. He was extremely kind to me and wished that he could bike like I was, but he had a wonderful family and a steady job that kept him from it. I had begun to consider quitting my tour after riding on flat land for 17 days, but knowing there are people who can't but wish they could kept me going. People like Chris, and Multiple Sclerosis patients. My trip did eventually end well after cycling across the rest of the Great Plains, though not at the Atlantic Ocean as planned.
I am beyond excited to be a part of Bike the US for MS. Donations are used to fund research and treatment of MS, spreading knowledge about MS, and some is even given directly to assist MS patients. Personally, I have not had a strong connection to MS, however I recently met a relative of mine for the first time (albeit digitally) who has MS. Her name is Angela and on good days she can use her right arm. She is also incredibly positive and happy--even the idea that I might be able to one day possibly do this ride gave her one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen, and I teach kids about nature and teamwork for a living. Doing this ride means a lot.
