About Matt Brinckman

I have been involved with Bike the US for MS since 2007 in one way or another. After playing the role of Route Leader on the Trans Am in 2010 I was hooked for life. Here I am, back again. This time swapping the van and trailer for a set of panniers. There is truly nothing like hitting the open road under your own locomotion, setting out for an adventure with few bounds. I can’t wait!
Now, you can tell I love bike touring but let me share with you why the cause we support is an equal privilege for me. In 2010, just as our TransAm team was crossing into California preparing to celebrate raising $100,000, my girlfriend back in Virginia was getting diagnosed with MS. Earlier that summer she had biked the Virginia leg of the journey with our team. I had met plenty of folks with MS before but she was the first person that I was very close with to be diagnosed. Needless to say, that event changed my life and gave me an even better perspective to appreciate groups like Bike the US for MS and those who volunteer their time, blood, sweat, and maybe even tears! I’d love to share more of my story and the story of this grass roots group with you. Let’s do it by bike! Join me; support us; get involved. You won’t regret it.
