About Jim Meyers
I'm 54 years young, happily married, with 3 grown children, and 4 dogs. Have enjoyed cycling all of my life, prefer to have someone to ride with when at home as riding in big circles by yourself is not as much fun. I worked for a Chevron fuel distributor for 17 years until 1997 when I quit and went to work at the Burlington Northern Railroad Co. as a conductor. I did that job until 2003 when I was injured at work and now classified as disabled due to a back and neck injury. I still get around well enough to ride, I don't have to stand while riding so I don't put pressure on my back, the injury. This is a great oppourtunity for both Myself and the MS Foundation, I was planning on doing my ride this summer from Seattle to Oakdale, CA. 95361 approximately 850 to 900 miles following the coastline, when I realized the the MS ride was within my window of time I filled out a request to do the ride. I should also note that my oldest Daughter has MS, as does her Mom and Aunt. So maybe the ride will help them in some way. They always do a walk each spring with the local MS chapter and I try to attend just to show my support, but I can't walk their distance. I found out their walk this year will be Saturday Apr. 27 th.
