About Tim Blackstone

Riding in the 2014 Bike the US for MS  was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. It was great to meet so many wonderful and inspiring people. Two of the most inspiring people I met were Cassie and Don, who set up and run the tour every year. The tour originated in 2010 as Don’s way of raising money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis after his mother was diagnosed with the disease.  Their  passion and tireless efforts serve as a example to all of us on what you can do to help others in need if you put your mind to it.

It turns out that Cassie's and Don's same passion to help all those in the US with MS is shared by James in the United Kingdom (UK) to help all those with MS in UK. James arranged the inaugural Bike the UK for MS in the summer of 2014, and it was a great success with 9 alumni from previous Bike the US for MS events joining in this past summer to help kick off the yearly ride.

As an alumni from the 2014 Bike the US for MS ride, my goal this year is to help James further establish the Bike the UK for MS tour by riding in the second year of this event in the summer of 2015. I know from my ride across the US last summer how much awareness this event will raise, and want to help establish that same kind of event in the UK to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for MS.

If you are reading this in the United States, you might be tempted to say “…well that is to benefit the UK...”, but don’t forget that MS knows no borders, and your desire to help all those with MS should have no borders as well. There are over 100,000 people in the UK with MS, and Bike the UK for MS will bring so much awareness and funding to help find a cure for individuals in the UK who are affected by this terrible disease. More importantly, a cure found anywhere will have benefits everywhere.

So, will you please help me to raise  £1034 ($1620)? This is one British pound for every mile from John O'Groats, Scotland (the most northern point of the British Isles) to Land’s End (the most western point of the British Isles). Please know that every penny of the funds raised goes to Bike the UK for MS. My cost of travel from Monument, Colorado, to the British Isles and back, food and other expenses are covered by myself. Your donations go 100% to help those with Multiple Sclerosis. Also, know that I will ride every mile regardless of rain or shine during the two weeks it takes to cross the British Isles, just as I rode every mile for the 2014 Bike the US for MS. My commitment to you and my passion is to ride for your donations to bring awareness to find a cure, and every mile is important to that awareness. Your donations make it possible, and I am so grateful and honored to ride for your gift to those with MS. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and compassion for those affected by this awful diseases that strikes those in the prime of their life with no notice.
