About Colin Berg
Hi, I'm Colin, and I'm excited and honored to be riding a segment of the Northern Tier with the Bike The US For MS team in 2015!
I have friends living with MS, so the opportunity to raise funds and awareness in support of the National MS Society, some of the leading MS centers and clinics in the country, and especially those living with multiple sclerosis means a great deal to me. I've ridden in the local Bike MS events with Team Eddie Bauer for several years, and I know that these charitable rides are not only powerful fundraising tools--they are also profoundly impactful in building and sustaining our human community. They validate that we are all richer and stronger when we acknowledge our connections and work together. I know that this Bike The US For MS experience will be transformative for me and all the riders, and we hope for all the people we meet along the way as well.
In 2015, I'll be joining the team in Minneapolis, and riding as far as Malta, Montana--a little over a thousand miles. Why that particular segment? Well, in 1915, my maternal grandmother got on a train in Minneapolis bound for Malta. As a 23-year-old single woman, she was going to meet one of her brothers to homestead adjoining sections between Malta and Saco. So as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of her journey, I'm going to roughly retrace her steps...on my bike.
I've asked some of my friends at Eddie Bauer to join with me by riding other segments of the route, creating a "relay" team in effect. I hope they'll take up the challenge. And I hope that you'll join with us--either by riding, by donating, or just by sending us your good thoughts. After several hours in the saddle, and several hundred hills climbed, believe me--those positive thoughts are a welcome energy boost.
If you'd like to support our cause and my ride, it's easy. You can do it online by clicking "DONATE" here on this page. Or you can send a check payable to Bike The US For MS with my name in the memo line. The address is:

Thank you for your interest, and your support. With every pedal stroke and every dollar raised, we move that much closer to a world free of MS.
