About Jack Shi
I am so excited to be part of this 69-day, 4295-mile adventure across the continental United States. I love cycling and think it is the best way to travel. For a few years, I have dreamed of bike-touring across the country. The longest and hardest single-day bike rides I have done so far are a 135 and 150 mile ride from New York to Montauk, Long Island last summer. Drifting between exhaustion and elation as the endless landscapes of cliffs, hills, swamp, sand slide before you, it is incomparable.

In 2012, I graduated from Columbia University as an undergrad majoring in Math and Computer Science. Since then, I have been working full-time as a developer in the New York City area for a financial firm. I love reading, learning, solving puzzles and playing board games. My physical interests other than cycling include rock climbing and long walks. I also love exploring the world and have been recently trying to visit as many National Parks as I could. I'm also looking forward to attempting a single day, 17 hour cutoff, 50 mile walk this summer before the ride. Wish me luck!
The mother of my best friend has multiple sclerosis. MS affects different people in different ways and can be difficult to diagnose and impossible to treat. People can only try to fight it for their entire lives. So little is known about MS and yet more than 2 million people worldwide suffer from it. As someone who tries to stay active and hates the restrictions of simply being sick, I feel their pain. I've read and heard about so many amazing people and their fight against MS. Now, I want to fight for them too. Help me and donate a small amount to Bike MS. Your donation will go towards funding this event, increasing MS awareness, MS research, and helping those with MS.
Please either donate on this page or mail a check with my name on the memo to:
