About Suzanne OConnor
My name is Suzanne O'Connor. I have been accepted to participate in the US Bike across US ride on the Southern tier. I am very much looking forward to this bucket list challenge.
My interest in cycling started in the late 1980’s with my first organized ride being an MS 150 event called the Best Dam Bike Get-Together (from Phoenix to Parker Dam on the Colorado River just below Lake Havasu AZ, and bordering CA). This was a personal challenge, since my husband had said that I would never be able to do it, but I did it! Afterwards our family and friends have participated in many BikeMS events in AZ and NV.
I've recently retired from the IT industry where I worked as a Developer/Lead for over 30 years, or maybe I should say that I'm taking a break to do something that I've wanted to do for a very long time.
Growing up in WI, my sister had a good friend that was diagnosed with this disease at 15 years of age; she is an adult now and still continues to be impacted by this disease. Over the years I have met others that have this disease, and that is why I'm going to continue to ride in MS charity bike rides as long as I’m physically capable.
Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms, which range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but research and treatment are in progress.
Please help me to raise funds so that together, we can change the future, and bring an end to MS.
Thanks everyone for all of your support!!
Looking forward to the ride(adventure)
