About Colin Berg
Hi, I'm Colin and I'm excited to be riding again with Bike The US For MS! Last summer I rode for two weeks and a thousand miles with the Northern Tier team. This year, I'll be riding for another two weeks and about 600 miles with the Pacific Coast Route team as they pedal from Seattle to San Diego.
It really is an honor to be a small part of the BTUSFMS effort. As cyclists we get to do what we love—ride our bikes—while experiencing the country and the people along the way "up close and personal." There's nothing like getting out of the house, out of the office, and out of the car and experiencing the world directly from a bike. Rhythms are a lot more harmonious when the tempo is only 15 mph.
But in addition to the adventure of experiencing America firsthand, as BTUSFMS riders we get to lend our hands (and legs) in support of all those suffering from multiple sclerosis. The money we raise goes to support MS healing centers around the country, and to help fund research to find a cure for this debilitating disease. It's simply not acceptable that for a disease that strikes 400,000 Americans and 2.5 million worldwide, we still don't know the cause or have a cure. As riders, we want to help change that. So we ride and raise money with Bike The US For MS. As part of the journey, we also make several stops along the route to help local MS patients with projects around their home. These service days are among the high points of the trip.
I hope you'll join us in this effort by making a donation today. You can do that here by clicking on the orange "Donate" button above right. Or you can send a check made out to "Bike The US For MS" with my name in the memo line to: Bike The US For MS, P.O. Box 10001, Blacksburg, VA 24062. All donations are tax-deductible. Bike The US For MS is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization; tax ID 27-2192426.
As we ride from one end of the country to the other in support of friends, family, and strangers with MS, your support of us makes all the difference in the world. It reminds us that we are part of a whole greater than the sum of our parts, and that when we work together, we can accomplish great things, one small act at a time.
