About Rob and Fay DuBois

In the summer of 2015, the two of us participated in what we called our “epic journey”: bicycling across the country, coast to coast, from Maine to Seattle as a fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis with the “Bike The US For MS” organization.  And what a journey it was through all kinds of weather and scenery.  Along with 22 other amazing riders from college kids to retirees, what a thrill it was for us to complete this 4,295-mile, 69-day ride. But, that thrill paled in comparison to the joy, pride and satisfaction we got from: 1) the service projects our group performed at the homes of families directly affected by MS, and, 2) by the donations from our group’s fundraising which we presented to three MS facilities and clinics in Cleveland, Minneapolis and Seattle totaling $60,000.

In Minneapolis, we got to meet, be entertained by and interact with MS patients and learn about their stories.  Several of us received pictures of these patients.  Rob's photo was of a well-educated woman with a Master degree in theology, who had traveled in numerous places around the world.  MS struck her not in a mobility aspect but in a mental capacity.  He carried her photo on every day’s ride after that all the way to Seattle giving him the inspiration and motivation to complete this journey for not only her but for all others affected by MS.

In Buffalo, NY, Minneapolis and Fargo, ND, our service projects consisted of what we’d consider simple tasks: outside yard work, room painting and other inside work.  But, for those with MS, even these simple tasks can be difficult.

All riders are completely responsible for their own expenses: from all meals to transporting themselves and their bikes to the ride’s start and back home from the finish.  To help keep the organization’s trip costs down, we will be camping outdoors, staying at churches or community centers or other locales, wherever is the most cost effective.

Our minimum fundraising amount is $1/mile or $1,852 each, or $3,704. We hope that you can help us achieve it.  Any donation amount you can give is greatly appreciated!!  Donations to our fundraising can be made by clicking on the “Donate” button at the top right part of our rider profile page and complete the necessary donor information.  Or, you can mail a check to:
