About Olivia Krebs
Very few events truly change your life, but my 2015 summer with BTUSFMS on the Northern Tier earns the title of my most transformative experience yet.
Last summer, over the course of 4,295 miles, I experienced hypothermia, dehydration, flashflooding, stitches, and pain I didn't know I could feel. And yet, it was the best time of my life - I miss it every day. I made lifelong friends, saw the most beautiful corners of the U.S. and had my faith in humanity restored by all of the people that we met along the way.
Just when I would tire of biking, our team would visit an MS clinic which reminded me of how fortunate I am to be physically able to just simply pedal, let alone do it all day. The MS patients we will meet will call all the cyclists heros, but it's quite apparent that they are the actual heros that should inspire us all to ride.
I'm a recent college grad, living in Thailand right now. Last year I performed stand-up comedy to fund raise but I'll have to get more creative now that I'm away from all my friends and family. As someone that has seen in person how the money you donate changes lives, I could not be more grateful for any support you can give.
I can't wait to be back for the majority of the TransAm ride starting in my home state and ending with the team in San Fran. I plan on moving to California after the ride, so this is my symbolic (and literal) journey from my childhood home to the next phase of my life. Happy trails and thank you so much for your support!
