About Jacob Vince
Ever since I was a child, I have possessed a passion for adventure and exploring nature. As I have gotten older, I realized this passion is much bigger than just seeking out an adventure, it has become a drive for challenges where I find myself seeking new obstacles that push my physical as well as mental limits.
In 2013, I was yearning for a new challenge and decided upon the biggest challenge yet, hiking the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, 2185.3 miles. In the spring of 2014, I began my endeavor, underestimating the physical and metal barriers I was about to embark on the next 196 nights. I encountered many different challenges and injuries and, not to mention, starvation. This really tested and solidified my physical and mental strength.
Now onto my next challenge; an 1852 mile bike ride down the Pacific Coast. But it is much more than just the next adventure for me. I thrive to participate in Bike the US for MS for my Aunt Sue who is battling everyday with MS and also in honor of the late Mr. Struble, a father figure to me, who has lost his fight with MS last year. I am biking for them, to raise awareness to this debilitating disease and raise money for research. I will be completing this race with my great friend and son of Mr. Struble.
